Ability to work in an independent manner with little or no supervision. Ability to work under pressure in a medical situation by reporting out quality results in a timely fashion. Previous experience preferred. Associate Degree required for MLT. Baccalaureate degree required for MT. Requires a current license with the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.

  • The Surgical Technologist/ER Technician works under the supervision of the physician and/or RN. Scrubs and assists in the OR/ER and is responsible for the cleaning and sterilizing of instruments and supplies for the hospital. Also responsible for the ordering of all supplies to ensure the OR/ER is adequately equipped, cleaned and prepared for all patient care. Must have a working knowledge of basic clinical skills in delivery of patient care. Must exhibit a cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians. Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff. Maintains confidentiality. Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and must be registered on the ND Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Persons Registry. Must have graduated from an accredited program for Surgical Technology. Previous training or experience in an Operating Room and Central Supply is preferred.   • The Nurse Aide/Medication Aide helps residents lead a happy and productive life through tasks done individually or in a large group. The Nurse Aide performs resident care activities.   • The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all maintenance and repairs at Sakakawea Medical Center, Senior Suites, and Coal Country Community Health Center buildings. Duties will include equipment repair, ground maintenance, inspections of building, grounds, equipment, vehicles and utility systems to insure safe operation, and to maintain heating and cooling system, electrical and plumbing. The Maintenance Technician must have good communication skills and a good working relationship with all team members. Two years’ of boiler experience is preferred. Must be able to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructions. Must have a knowledge of mechanics, welding, and small appliance repair. Must be able to prioritize work projects, exercising independent decision-making. Works independently and as a team member. The Maintenance Technician has daily contact with patients, residents, family members, employees, and the general public. Must be able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner exercising sound judgment and discretion.

  • The speech-language pathologist works to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, augmentative alternative communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Provides services for inpatients and outpatients, including evaluation, treatment, and follow-up care. Functions as a patient advocate, particularly in dealing with other health care providers and physicians. Works cooperatively with all staff including providers, nursing staff, social worker, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare staff. Provides patient care and communication with other departments within the organization. Requires a master’s degree in Speech Pathology, as well as a current license with the North Dakota State Board of Examiners on Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. CPR certification. Must possess hearing ability sufficient to evaluate patient’s speech. Must be able to produce appropriate written/dictated patient documentation of patient encounters. Must possess excellent communication skills in order to explain/direct treatment plans. Must be able to interact with patients and families in a positive manner. One year of experience in speech pathology is preferred.

  • The primary functions of a hospice CNA/Homemaker are performing various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The services of a hospice aide are given under the direction and supervision of a RN. Services may be provided in the patient’s home, long term care facility or in the hospital. Previous nurse aide experience is preferred. Responds effectively in emergency and stressful situations.   • The Dietary Cook is responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of nutritional meals that meet the daily nutritional needs of patients and residents. Key duties include ensuring that the special dietary needs of patients and residents are met and to provide attractive and palatable meals. The Dietary Cook provides meals for employees, patients, residents, and visitors. May work in either the kitchen or the café. Prepares meals for luncheons and special meal requests. Starting salary is $13.29+ per hour, depending on experience. Additional shift differential for weekend shifts.   • The Hospice and Visiting Nurse Services Associate and Billing Specialist oversees and performs the office operations such as bookkeeping, data entry, file maintenance, patient accounts, tracking of staff hours, coordination and maintenance of computer systems, medical records that pertain to state and federal regulations, and other clerical services. Responsible for accurate and timely submission of Hospice/ Visiting Nurse bills to insurance companies and patients for payment to the organization. Provides communication with other departments within the organization. Medical terminology knowledge is preferred. Computer knowledge and experience is essential. Previous experience with medical billing is helpful. Must be able to work with people in a tactful, diplomatic manner and exercise judgment and discretion. ICD-10 diagnosis coding desirable. Communicates frequently with co-workers, physicians, patients, and families.
